Chapter 11 and 12 Updates on Unity

As we all know, technology moves fast. Amazingly, it’s already been more than two years since the release of the book and there have been some significant changes to Unity’s audio system as well as its scripting methods, favoring C# over UnityScript/Javascript or Boo. We are now proud to provide the latest information and procedural updates to you absolutely free!

This PDF updates and replaces some very important information in chapters 11 and 12 of the book. This update will be useful for those book readers who may be confused by the differences in look and feel both visually and in terms of getting started in scripting.

Happy reading!

Free Unity Game Level

If you’ve been enjoying our book, The Essential Guide To  Game Audio and the companion iOS App as well, you’ve probably been a bit curious about the Unity Walkthrough level featured in Chapter 11+12 of the book, which is the same environment as the Holodeck Unity Walkthrough example shown in the App.

To give you a taste of these two chapters, covering basic audio implementation in Unity, the Game Audio Institute is now offering this Unity level for free! All we ask is that you sign up on our mailing list. We’ll let you know occasionally when we have offerings we think you’ll be interested in. We won’t spam you or give your email address out, and you can opt out at any time.
